Panama Real Estate - Today is Monday May 7, 2012 & it has been another holiday… another three day week end here in Panama… actually this spur of the moment holiday has been for the recognition & mourning for one of Panama’s former Presidents who passed away last week at the age of 92 -
When you come to Panama please consider visiting Panama’s Pearl Islands -
The best beaches in the world are just a ferry ride away to the Las Perlas Islands By The Visitor Panama
Contadora Island is located to the extreme north of the Pearl Islands Archipelago, making it most accessible by ferry from Panama City. The archipelago is considered Panama’s “Pacific” answer to the famous island destinations of Bocas del Toro and San Blas on the Caribbean side.
The Pearl Islands are famous for playing host to the popular CBS series “Survivor” during three seasons.
Contadora Island is just 32 miles from the bustling capital of Panama City. The islands have luxury homes and an array of private properties. The main roads on the island are paved.
Some of the world’s most beautiful beaches are located in these islands. The warm turquoise water is teeming with all kinds of marine life. Panama’s most talked about nude beach is located on the southern point of Contadora Island, known as Playa de las Suecas (The beach of the Swedish girls in English).
All beaches in Panama are public by law, and anyone wishing to find their own private beach can do so by hiring a local “panga” boat, or water taxi, to take you there. These ocean-faring outboard skiffs are operated by locals who wait quietly at the sea’s edge to take travelers to deserted islands and private beaches for a small fare.
The Panamanian company, Sea Las Perlas, offers a high-speed catamaran ferry service for up to 64 travelers who can enjoy the ship’s sun deck while in transit or the enclosed air-conditioned cabin. The one hour, 40 minute trip can be enjoyed having a refreshment aboard as well.
